- July 2010 - Harris Sponsors Engineering Summer Camp for Young Girls
Working in conjunction with the Women in Engineering group at RIT (WE@RIT), Harris RF this year created the Harris Scholars Program to assist local girls and young women who are interested in engineering and want to attend RIT's "Everyday Engineering Summer Camp." Established in April 2010, the Harris Scholars Program is a $100,000 endowment for WE@RIT that will help provide funds each year for economically disadvantaged girls in grades 5 through 10 to attend the summer camp.
- June 2010 - Taylor Zimmerman and Tyler Laprade named the 2010 Harris Corporation Merit Scholarship Recipients
Two recent high school graduates from Florida will be entering college in the fall with the assistance of National Merit scholarships sponsored by Harris for the sons and daughters of Harris employees. The students and their families were recognized at a June 15 luncheon on GCSD's Palm Bay campus. Sheldon Fox, GCSD Group President; Andrea Bortner, VP, Human Resources, GCSD; and Natasha Irizarry, Corporate Relations, were on hand to celebrate the recipients' achievements.
- June 2010 - Harris is a CollegeGrad.com 2010 Top Entry-Level Employer.
Harris once again ranks as one of CollegeGrad.com's Top Entry-Level Employers in the U.S. The company made the list in all three categories, ranking #38 in Top Entry Level Employers, #28 in Top Intern Employers and #20 in Top Masters Graduates.

- April 2010 - Harris Receives Patriot Award for Its Support of Employees Who Serve.
On March 19, Harris was recognized with a Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense organization that recognizes companies that support employees serving in the nation's National Guard or Reserve components. The ESGR works to develop a dialogue among employers and local National Guard and Reserve units.

- March 2010 - Harris Media Center's Graphics/Tradeshows/Multimedia Honored with Prestigious ADDY Awards.
Ten graphic artists representing Harris Corporation's Media Center attended a dinner in their honor on March 5, where they were presented with the prestigious ADDY's Award, which recognizes and rewards creative excellence in advertising. Winning ADDYs is not new to these talented artists, but out of eight gold and silver awards, there was one surprise.

- January 2010 - Harris' University Gifts Help Create Future Engineers - With a $3 million gift to the University of Florida, Harris Corporation last week added to a generous string of gifts to southeastern universities.

- July 2010 - Karen Fellows, Engineering Manager at RFCD, featured in Rochester Women Magazine
- June 2010 - Wes Covell appointed Vice President, Strategy and Chief Growth Officer.
- June 2010 - Marc Chase & Cindy Kane receive the 2010 Corporate Citizenship Award.
The Corporate Citizenship Award was established in 2001 and is presented annually to a Harris employee who exhibits the attributes of honesty, integrity, respect, character and trustworthiness.

- May 2010 - Denise King Promoted to Director of Business Conduct.
- May 2010 - Howard Lance Awarded Honorary Doctoral Degree by the University of Florida.
The University of Florida has conferred an honorary doctoral degree on Howard L. Lance, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harris, in recognition of his industry leadership and commitment to higher education.
- April 2010 - Amy Chocolaad featured in Diversity Careers Magazine.
- April 2010 - Sleighton Meyer, GCSD, featured in Spacecoast Living Magazine for Harris' Haiti Relief Efforts. (pg. 45)
- March 2010 - Military vets move into second careers in technology.
Latarshia Jones' Navy career led to systems support at Harris. She served on active duty in the U.S. Navy from 1997 to 1999. Then she transferred to the reserves until 2003. Her last duty assignment was with the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
- March 2010 - Wendy Martin among Finalist for 11th Annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards.
- February 2010 - Congratulations to the Nominees for SWE's 2010 Women Engineers of the Year Awards
Six GCSD employees have been nominated by Harris for the 2010 Space Coast Society of Women Engineers (SWE) annual Women Engineers of the Year Awards. Congratulations to the nominees in each of the following categories for being recognized by their peers for their outstanding contributions!
- February 2010 - Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA)
Ten Harris employees will receive awards in the category of Modern Day Technology Leadership (MDTL) at the Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Global Competitiveness Conference in Baltimore, Maryland this month.
- January 2010 - Harris Employees selected as Finalist for LEAD Brevard's "4 Under 40" Awards.
- January 2010 - Rodney Stigall - GCSD Recruiting Supervisor - featured in the latest issue of Black Enterprise magazine.
- January 2010 - Joni Blizzard, Manager, Small Business Program, has been elected by unanimous vote to the Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council's (VMSDC) Board of Directors. Further, Joni will be recognized by MEA (Minority Enterprise Advocate) Magazine, a publication of the Minority Enterprise Executive Council, as one of the 50 Most Powerful Minority Women in Business, at an event to be hosted this March at the Washington D.C. Please join me in congratulating Joni, and in celebrating her inclusion on the HITS team.
- January 2010 - Marci Finney, financial controller for Harris IT Services, featured in ExecutiveBiz.
Backed by 20 years' experience at the company's corporate and divisional levels, Finney recently shared her approach to strengthening internal financial teams while keeping an eye on strategy development.
