Harris Supports Katrina Relief Efforts
Along with donating money to various relief organizations, our divisions and their professionals donated equipment and expertise to the devastation region. We sent satellite communications equipment and professionals to provide voice and data capabilities to help restore communication. We also set up tactical radio systems and RF communications, helped restore mass communications via our radio and television divisions and provided microwave radios for a cost-effective and quick means of establishing communications infrastructure.

The Harris Foundation
The Harris Foundation matches gifts made by employees to qualified schools, colleges and universities, as well as community organizations. Last year, the Foundation donated more than $800,000.

The United Way
The company's formal fundraising campaign during the year is the United Way Campaign. In 2004, Harris had the largest campaign in Brevard County, Florida. We focus our attention on this one organization because they provide—through more than 40 agencies—a broad distribution of services. Also, many of our employees volunteer their time at United Way agencies.

Harris Stories
Hurricane Relief
Two of the four hurricanes that hit Florida in 2004 came ashore on Florida's east coast, leaving a number of Harris employees with property damage. Harris quickly set up a Hurricane Assistance Committee and implemented several programs that allowed employees to have the funds they needed to make repairs to their homes and to obtain temporary housing.
